QUINCY THE CHAMELEON
A real-life blending-in story: by Heather John
Day 3 of the 10-day countdown to the book's release.
My hair! As a middle school kid I would spend hours and hours trying to have straight hair because that was what was "normal". I tried to straighten it so many times with harsh, smelly chemicals, iron it with an actual iron, and flatten it with crazy hair cuts and styles. One day I just gave up and now I love my curls! They make me who I am. I hope that doesn't sound vain, but I really do feel like they represent my goofy personality. And I'm sure Kathy Johncan attest to the many many experiments we did to make my hair "normal". Ha, whatever that means...
